Last week, we had some friends over for a Nature Study Lesson about the crawdad. Here is Ethan's drawing:

1. If a crawdad loses an appendage, it will grow back. (Hannah)
2. It has pincers, antennae, carapace, eyes and three jaws to chew their food. (Adam)
3. It has five pairs of legs, three of which have pincers. (Hannah)
4. Crawdads have spinnerets on the underside of their bodies which help them move. (Mom)
5. Crawdads are invertebrates which means that they don't have a backbone. (Caleb)
6. Crawdads have an exoskeleton which is their shell. (Mark)
7. A crawdad molts which is shedding the old shell and growing a new one. (Ethan)
