He is a Jacobite which the king, James, to come back from exile in France. David helps Breck fight the crew but then he gets tossed overboard and washed up on shore. Then David meets the Red Fox who gets shot and Davy is supected of being involved. A lot of people died on the way so it is called "The Trail of Tears".

They killed a lot of white people but the slaves were defeated and they scattered. Many slaves were caught and hung. Nat Turner fled into the swamps and hid for two months but he was also found and hung.

The Opium War- The Opium War took place in China. The British were selling Opium to the Chinese but the Chinese Emperor did not like opium because it was not good for his people. He told the British merchants to dump their opium into the ocean and told them they couldn't trade in China anymore. But the King of England did not like this so the Britain sent ships to China and attacked them. But China did have many ships or soldiers so they had to surrender and sign a treaty that was unfair. It forced the Chinese to pay a lot of money for the opium they had destroyed and they had to open their ports. Also, they had to give the island of Hong Kong to England.

The Tulip Tree Mystery

We were hiking recently when we found something interesting...

It was a petal that looked like this. What could it be?
Next, we found this lying on the ground.
Then, we looked up and saw this tree!
We climbed up for a closer look....

When I saw the shapes of the leaves, I knew that it was a Tulip Tree and now I know why. It's flowers look similar to Tulips.
Here is a closeup of the inside of the Tulip Tree blossom.

The Tulip Ttree (Liriodendron) is part of the Magnolia family. It is easily recognized by it's distinctive four-lobed leaves and tulip-like blossoms.
