Gythion

After several hours of driving, we finally arrived in Gythion ready to have some fun. First stop, ice cream. Second stop, the beach. The water was cold but the kids wanted to swim so we explored the beach while Mike explored the town, got his bearing and found the place we wanted to eat. Gythion is the octopus capital of Greece and a charming town but apparently, the sanitation department is on strike and so there were bags of trash EVERYWHERE. This ruined it for me. So, we had dinner and headed to Areopolis.

The restaurant where we had dinner. Yes, that is real octopus hanging from the doorway.
