Why Poetry?

Poetry resides at the intersection of
Thought and feeling
Shadow and light
Community and solitude

Poetry deals with the epic of things both
Great and small
Sober and light hearted
Exotic and familiar

Poetry gives us a glimpse of life stripped down to its barest essence and shows the seed of promise and beauty in all things- even misery.

To some, poetry is a just a train of words across the page that goes
on and on
on and on
on and on....

But to me it is a lyrical and rhythmic melody flown straight from the heart.
