More Blogging

I have been trying to think of a way to motivate Caleb to start writing more. So, he has started his own blog. Today I noticed that he had scanned some photos and wrote a post about soccer without even my knowledge so I am hoping that he will enjoy this and take ownership of it. If you want to check it out:

Also, the boys have started a boys blog to share things they are learning and experiencing with friends who live close and far away. Some of these friends have agreed to become contributors to the blog as well.

Why I Blog....

1. It appeals to me visually- it's kind of like an online scrapbook.
2. Blogging is one way to keep family and friends in the loop with what is going on around here.
3. I like to look back and see what we have done.
4. Writing is something that I want to model for my kids and blogging is a way to do that.
5. One of my goals for 2009 is to write more and the blog is good writing practice for me.
6. It motivates my kids to want to share themselves and what they are doing with others. When we are doing something that they are enjoying, they ask to take a picture and put it on the blog.
7. It's a place to share (and keep track of!) all of the resources that we enjoy as home schoolers.
8. Our blog is also a place to share what we have learned.

A Perfect Day

Inspired by our friend, Anwen, Caleb decided to write about
his perfect Saturday. Here it is:

Caleb's Perfect Saturday

Wake up and have a grand slam breakfast. Get our four things done. Then play legos. Then play chess with mom then go to wills house and have lunch there. Then go to the Library and get books then go home. And have rest time. After rest time I have my computer time then we have our family swim then come home and have dinner which would be pizza. Then wrestle with dad and then get cozy in Mom's bed. Watch adventures in odyssey. Then get in bed and go to sleep.

Our Trip To The Air Force Musuem

First we saw the Wright brothers plane.Then we saw the planes of World War I. Next, we saw
planes from World War II. We also went inside some planes. Then we saw some planes from the Korean war. We went on a ride that was like you were inside a real plane. Then we saw some HUGE rockets! We also had lunch. Then we went on the ride again. We had a great time there. Thanks Grampy!

Our Favorite Things About Church

We had Will and George for dinner tonight (Ethan went to Charlie's) and we talked about all of our favorite things about our church while we ate dinner. Here's a sample list:
