Sharks
Sharks are one of the most dangerous
predators of the sea. They have a skeleton made of cartilage. Sharks, like all
other fish, have gills so they can breathe. Their skin is made out of little
tiny scales. Sharks also have no eyelids like snakes. There are about 250
different types of sharks but the ones you will hear about are: the Great
White, Hammer Head, Whale, Tiger, Bull and Mako.
Sharks are
ferocious hunters. Sharks are attracted to blood. In order to eat, Sharks have
to dislocate their jaw, after that sharks will eat anything even humans. Sharks
can have up to 40-45 teeth. When Sharks lose their teeth, another one just comes
forward. Sharks sometimes hunt in schools but mostly hunt alone. The tops of
their bodies are black and their bottoms are white so they can camouflage in
the water.
Most sharks live 20-30 years. Some Sharks
lay eggs and some have live births. Some counties are declaring certain species
as endangered. Other countries are outlawing shark finning which is when you
defin a shark and throw it back in the sea. Sharks are amazing creators and
everyone should know about them. We are still learning about sharks today.
