Our second stop in Colorado was in Idaho Springs. This was a bit serendipitous but we made an appointment to go white water rafting on the Clear Creek. Our guide's name was Ron and he was the perfect blend of expertise and humor for our group.
Ron is teaching us how to paddle. He spent a great deal of time on safety which was great. I think everyone learned a lot.
Here they are getting into the boat and into the water. Ethan was designated as head rower and everyone else was supposed to follow his stroke.
This is Clear Creek. There was up to Class III rapids on this stretch of the creek. Our guide said this was a more technical ride than say, the Snake River, where you basically just float. So, I think it was challenging enough for the boys but not too scary for Abigail.
