Anne of Green Gables

We have started reading Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery. We are enjoying it and laughing at Anne's dramatic view of the world. Here are some quotes that we have been enjoying:

Scope for the imagination
The white way of delight
The lake of shining waters
A kindred spirit
The depths of despair
Anne spelled with an e
My life is a graveyard of buried dreams

We read this poem by Emily Dickinson today and thought that Anne would like it:

I dwell in Possibility--
A fairer House than Prose--
More numerous of Windows--
Superior--for Doors--

Of Chambers as the Cedars--
Impregnable of Eye--
And for an Everlasting Roof
The Gambrels of the Sky--

Of Visitors--the fairest--
For Occupation--This--
The spreading wide my narrow Hands
To gather Paradise--
