The full name of Pablo Picasso (1881-1973) is Pablo Diego José Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno María de los Remedios Cipriano de la Santísima Trinidad Ruiz y Picasso. Whew! Picasso was a painter and sculptor and one of the greatest artists of the 20th century. He helped to originate the movement that is now called Cubism. Since he is a modern/abstract artist, we are using him as our starting point for an exploration of abstract art. Here are some works that we will be looking at:
