Watership Down

Watership Down is a fantasy novel about rabbits. The rabbits are anthropomorphised and have their own language (lapine), poetry, myths and culture. One of the rabbits forsees the destruction of his warren by humans. So, a group of rabbits decide to leave and start their own warren. Also, each of the rabbits has human characteristics. Here are the words that we have come up with to describe each of the characters so far:

Rabbits-

Hazel- the protagonist, a leader and brother to Fiver

Fiver- has insight into what will happen in the future

Pipkin- a small, weak rabbit that is loyal and devoted to Hazel

Bigwig- a big rabbit known for his brawn (Caleb's word...); formerly of the Owsla, which is the rabbit police

Silver- also formerly of the Owsla

Buckthorn- former Owsla

Dandelion- the storyteller, also quickfooted

Blackberry- the brains (Caleb's word); a problem solver

Strawberry- a refugee from Cowslip's warren; the new warren's architect

Captain Holly- former head of Owsla; is wounded in the destruction of Sandleford warren

Bluebell- known for his humor

General Woundwort- the primary antagonist; the leader of a rival warren
