A nifty little book that I picked up- beautiful illustrations!
Adam drew gneiss in his nature journal. Gneiss is a metamorphic rock and similar in appearance to granite but it is distinguished by it's bands of colored minerals.
We read about the three types of rock: igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary. Also our book explained that the difference between a rock and mineral is that minerals are naturally occurring solid substances while a rock is made up of different types of minerals.
