Day 3- Meteora
The name Meteora comes from the Greek meteorizome which means "to hang in midair". Meteora is a group of monasteries that are perched on pinnacles of rock about 1, 000 feet in the air. The monasteries were built in the 14th century using pulleys and ropes to haul up the building materials.
