We stopped in St. Louis on Thursday afternoon to visit the Gateway Arch.
The Gateway Arch was designed by architect Eero Saarinen in 1947 and it was completed in 1965. It truly is amazing if you consider the feats of engineering that had to be undertaken to build this arch. It is 630 feet tall and clad in stainless steel. The Gateway Arch is a monument to the westward expansion of the United States- a gateway to the west since many pioneers traveled through St. Louis to settle the west.
We took a tram inside the arch to the top to see the view. We could see where Mike parked the RV.
Abigail was a bit nervous due the height.
The view from the arch.
