We arrived at our campsite just outside of Badlands National Park with enough time to venture into the park and catch a beautiful sunset.

Early French-Canadian named this area "les mauvaises terres a traverser" whcih means "Bad lands to cross".  The name apparently stuck. The terrain is surreal- like something from another planet!
