Mount Rushmore

Next, we headed to Mount Rushmore.

Adam said that Mount Rushmore was different than he expected- he didn't think it would be so high!

Facts about Mount Rushmore:

1. Created by sculptor Gutzon Borglum and finished by his son, Lincoln, after his death.
2. Started in 1925; finished in 1941.

3. 90% of the sculpting was done with dynamite.

4. Three million visitors each year.

5. The images of the presidents are 60 feet tall.

We drove through the Black Hills to get to Custer State Park.
