On Homeschooling

We work.
We read.
We write.
We practice.
We figure numbers.
We go for walks in the woods.
We talk about all of these things.
What is so hard about that?

Herein lies the problem:
Every once in awhile, we feel the need to quantify what they are learning.
To measure.
To compare.
To make sure that it is all adding up to something.
Something that validates us.
Because it is for us- these yardsticks.

So.
Throw the (figurative) yardsticks out the (figurative) window.
And ask yourself these questions:

Do they smile often?
Are they kind to each other?
Are they interested in learning?
Do they have open hearts and minds?
Do they love Jesus?

Then.
Rest.
For that is your center.
