Jamestown

On Friday, we headed to Historic Jamestown.

We started at the visitor center which had a nice area with artifacts, a map and a timeline. We especially liked the timeline as it had all of the historical events we have been talking about in one place.

When we headed to Jamestown, the site, we hooked up with a volunteer who told us about the current archeological digs that are taking place there.

Historic Jamestown is located of the actual site of the original settlement. Archeologists were in the process of uncovering an oven.

Abby Jane was enthralled and declared that she wants to be an archeologist when she grows up.
