H is for Hue

Hue is the name of any color found in its pure state in the spectrum. Primary colors (red, yellow, blue) and secondary colors (green, purple, orange) make up the chief colors of the spectrum. A tint is one of these hues that has had white added to it and a shade is one that has had black added to it. There are warm hues (red, orange, yellow) and also cool hues (blue, purple, green). Also, complementary colors are opposite of each other on the color wheel (red-green, blue-orange, purple-yellow).
