C is for Collage

Collage comes from the French word coller which means "to paste". A collage in art is when you arrange flat elements on a flat surface in a design. A collage can include fabric, newspaper, photographs, string, wallpaper, printed text, illustrations, etc... This technique was introduced by the Cubists. Above you can see a collage by Picasso, the artist we are studying this term. It is called "Guitar".

So, with Mimi's guidance, we began a collage project. Below are our results which included stitching as well. These were a lot of fun!
