It's A Cranberry Thanksgiving!

Do you know how cranberries are grown and harvested? We watched an episode of Reading Rainbow called "Giving Thanks" and this is what we found out: First, cranberries are grown in a bog, then they flood the bog with water. Next, they get these big machines which agitate the cranberry vines. Because they have air pockets inside, the berries float to the top. Then they corral the berries and push them up a conveyor belt which dumps the cranberries into a big bin so they can be sold.

We also read a book called Cranberry Thanksgiving by Wende Devlin. We tried the recipe in the back of the book. It is pretty good!
