After Mycenae, we headed south to Nafplio, a coastal town on the Gulf of Argos. Along the way were miles of 0range groves. Nafplio was the first modern capital of Greece and is a beautiful city. It sits at the base of the Acronaflia and Palamidi fortress. After dinner, we strolled along the waterfront and stopped for gelati and lattes. It was a lovely evening as we explored the narrow streets lined with citrus trees, cafes and shops. We also stopped for a few photos in front of the Bourtzi, an island fortress built in the harbor in 1471.
